Home Repair Scam

We have received a report of two males going door to door on the eastern portion of Allen County. The males are asking to do home improvements for a certain amount of money. A couple of hours later, the men provide the homeowner with bill for thousands of dollars. It appears they may be targeting the elderly or those who are most vulnerable. If someone approaches you with an offer to complete some work around your home, exercise caution and good judgement. Sheriff’s Deputies are interested in talking with these men. The Tama County (Iowa) Sheriff’s Office has had similar reports and has been able to identify possible suspects.  The suspects are Elvis A. Allison using the alias “Michael Shelton”, Tyson J. Allison using the aliases “Chris Thompson, Dustin Hanson, Jason Grooms, Bobby McDaniel”, and Bobby J. Allison. Elvis has an active arrest warrant out of Tama County for Theft with a bond of $25,000.00 cash only.
