Employment Opportunity – Allen County Jail (Cook)

The Allen County Jail is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to fill the position of Cook. The cook is supervised by the Kitchen Supervisor and Sheriff’s Office command staff.  Cooks are required to work varying shifts that includes some weekends and holidays.

Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.  Some overtime may be required.  Allen County provides single insurance at no cost to the employee (when certain healthcare obligations are met) as well as retirement through the Kansas Public Employee Retirement System (KPERS).

1. United States Citizen
2. No felony convictions, including any felony convictions that have been expunged
3. No felony behavior involving use, production, transportation, or sale of illegal drugs or  narcotics

As a condition of employment, you may be required to pass the following job related examinations: background investigation, psychological examination, polygraph examination, drug screen, and medical evaluation.
